“I have been living with this piece for 25 years now. At my home of forty years in North Hatley, I have a viewpoint that looks out over the lake and onto the mountains as far as Vermont. The viewpoint is shaded by very old and tall birch trees. Whenever I am there, I am still amazed to think that these trees belong to me, that that view belongs to me. It seems wonderful and incredible that it should be so. I have the same feeling when I look at my Doucet Saito piece: it seems incredible and wonderful that I should possess such an object” (Robert Brown, 2015).
