Junichi Yano was one of the founding editors of the Asahi Journal, a weekly magazine published by Asahi Shimbun, a news organization in Tokyo. Yano-san was responsible for the coverage of art, architecture, music and literature. He was an important figure in the cultural scene in Japan in the 1970s. It was at the home of Kyo and Semei Tsuji that Louise and Satoshi first met him. They soon became good friends with Yano-san and he subsequently visited Louise and Satoshi in Way’s Mills on three occasions.

 

Through Yano-san, Louise and Satoshi were introduced to many professionals in a variety of arts-related fields.
