One of several Doucet Saito works to be integrated into an architectural setting is the fireplace in the official residence of the Governor General of Canada, in the Citadel in Quebec City. After a series of unsuccessful models, Satoshi and Louise decided to shape the ceramic sections of the mantle on a life-size structure. This decision had a freeing effect on their work, an effect which is well reflected in the final result of the project.
